Videos of same movie or the same episode of a tv show should only be shown once when it has more than one video file of that movie or episode. (useful for people tha have backups or local copies) And when Kodi scans for videos unavailible files should not be shown.

He's talking about multiple copies, rather than multiple parts. Work on handling multiple copies is actually on the to-do list, thanks to the "media import" work.
