Hi, I am relativity new to Kodi. I currently am using serverWMC as a backed for recording and am trying to shift away from using Windows Media center.

Everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that the grouped recordings don't show any thumbnail.

Is there any way to get this functionality into the recorded TV section?

Unfortunately not at the moment. Grouped recordings are sort of a "virtual" structure that we can tell Kodi about by virtue of a path folder on the recording items themselves. This means the folders aren't an explicit item themselves and there is no way for us to set a thumbnail/icon for them.

I think if you leave it long enough Kodi may generate a thumbnail based on the files inside but I'm not sure

Would be a great addition though, you should definitely submit a suggestion/feedback for Kodi itself (as it's not something the addons can do without the Kodi pvr API providing the capability)

Thanks for the reply. Ideally this would work how it does currently in WMC, by pulling the thumbnail of the latest recording.

What is the best way to request this feature to the Kodi team?

I would rather have kodi use the stock guide image for the folder thumbnail and then screenshots for the individual recording thumbnails (but that's just me). With all the changes to pvr going into kodi 16, I think it would be great to add this to the mix. As a starting point, maybe request this feature in the pvr developer forum:

there are already threads started there for discussing pvr improvements, or you could make a new thread. I think I remember this already been requested, but doing a quick search I couldn't find it.

Honestly anything would be better than how it is now.

I like the having the thumbnail of the latest recording because then I can tell visually when a new recording has been done. I will post a link to the new thread I create. If you could weigh in there that would be great.
