Hi,
It started to happen "suddenly". I have multiple Kodi installations on different streamers, here problem reproduces with Kodi on Win7 64 bit, and Kodi - OSMC on Raspberry Pi2.
Both are wired connected (I tried to move PI to different network endpoints, including to being on the same wired switch as the NAS).
MySQL runs on QNAP NAS. CPU, bandwidth usage are low, I tried to restart service and whole NAS - doesn't help.
Problem:
When configured to use MySQL, every play attempt takes a lot of time (more on PI, less on Win7). That happens even if the file resides on the local drive. I configured Win7 instance to use different DB (kodi_video instead of xbmc_video), and left the DB to remain empty - it still happens.
DB creation took several minutes (I remember it was much faster).
When I perform manual operations on MySQL (via php console MySQL admin) it works normally (both on new and old, full DB)
