I live in a apartment complex that offers internet to all tenants which is great but I'm unable to control Kodi using the kodi remote app on my ipad or the app on my android phone. I have verified the address in Kodi. I have setup port 80 along with a login/password in the web server settings. I have turned my firewall on/off and tried connecting still no luck. Kodi has permissions to connect on both public networks when the firewall is on. Again, I have tried setting windows firewall on and off. Neither setting seems to work. Also, unable to connect to the webserver via browser.

I assume it has something to do with the router that I don't have access to. Possible setting port 80 to allow traffic? Any ideas for what to try next? Any help is appreciated. I had Kodi working at my last apartment where I had my own router.

Are you able to connect to the webserver on the Windows machine itself where Kodi is running? What do you see for http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 ?

Yes, I am able to login to the kodi machine using localhost/127.0.0.1.

And how about if you try the IP address of the machine in the Windows browser?
