Update Question
#1
Hello all,

I have a question. I'm running Kodi 15.0 (Kodibuntu) and was alerted that 15.1 was available.
I fired up anSSH session and run the Update commands.

That took a bit but it looked like it was successful. Then I rebooted.
However... whenever Kodi boots, the Splash screen does not reference the updated version.
Also.. when I look in system Information.. the old version is still showing... not the new updated version.

I don't have any add extra ons. The only extras I loaded was a 3rd party Skin and Yahoo weather.

I guess my question is...
Is this normal?
How do I verify that the updates applied.

You did run apt-get upgrade or apt-get release-upgrade?

Please dont suggest that second command to anyone, when referring to Kodi version upgrades, if you dont know what that command does especially. Kodi is not an OS its an application.

@cbaksa

See please HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux#Upgrading (wiki) for Kodi upgrade instructions including the commands on the note.

To verify the upgrade for Kodi went OK, then type.

Code:
sudo apt-get cache policy kodi

I was able to properly update after reading this link.

I needed to do sudo apt-get dist-upgrade in order for the update to apply properly.

Thanks!
