Hide speaker and sound effects from subtitles
#1
I'd love to see a subtitle option that allows to filter out speaker and sound effects from the subtitles.
These can be recognized by matching "SPEAKER:" and "(SOUND EFFECT)".

For example "(PHANTING) I'm alright" becomes "I'm alright" and "DRIVER: We need backup!" becomes "We need backup!".
As a special case, "- (MUMBLING)" should be hidden entirely.

Or you could obtain the correct subtitles in the first place as it sounds like you have subtitles for people hard of hearing, normal subtitles don't have these descriptive elements.

Yes of course, but sometimes the hard hear hearing subtitle is the only one available.

Workaround: Open the .srt subtitle file in Subtitle Edit. http://subtitle-edit.en.softonic.com/ From menu, choose Tools > Remove text for Hearing Impaired. Done.
