I am running Kodi 15.1 on a Raspberry Pi2 using Arch ARM. There is a problem with v15.1 and mounting NFS media it seems. I cannot figure out what is wrong via the log file which I link here.
I start from a fresh /var/lib/kodi/.kodi directory. Therein, I define a location of media from an NFS share (say movies for example). Kodi is able to scrape the files just fine. When I navigate to "movie" in the GUI, it locks up just after it tries to load the "recently added movies." From then on, kodi cannot load. All I see is 15.1 splash screen followed by the blue background, which eventually gets restarted by the init system I think. No menus appear. This only happens when I define an NFS share for the media. Starting from a fresh profile is fine. As soon as I define an NFS share, and kodi begins scrapping it freezes. Note that downgrading to version 15.0 works as expected so I believe nothing is wrong with my NFS server (it has been running happily for years).
Arch ARM package details:
Package: kodi-rbp 15.1-1
Architecture: armv7l
Device: RPi2
