HiMedia's H8 has promise... they apparently have an update coming with 3D ISO & HD audio via Kodi (assuming custom like Zidoo's) w/o wrapper (like Q5 relies on).

This promise based on zidoo open source ,so about 3D same of zidoo x6

And when they release their source code you will be able to see if they have made any improvements that you could use. That's the beauty of open sourer

In other news I got my zidoo x6 pro yesterday it's hopefully replacing a j1900 baytrail PC and android stick I use. I'll get it setup later and then start setting my Logitech harmony up to use it. Hoping to have 1 activity to go straight into kodi and another for just android

A harmony 900, do I need to create a sequence to shutdown ?

If you just press the power button its not going to shutdown

I'm not sure if cancel my zidoo x6 order. But i don't know a good alternative. Hinedia q5 is good, but it's got some problems as samba user-paswords, no Bluetooth and some addons kodi .

I think this bug (3d framepack output) will not fixed. Only Hinedia h8 has got 3d output.beelink and other boxes with same soc haven't got 3d output .

I have a feeling Zidoo will fix 3D output... whether full 3D or HSBS, unknown. Hopefully former.

I posted this in the Xidoo form and thought others here may find useful..

While I am enthusiastic about the X6 I have found the following issues:

Using Kodi as supplied in X6 with the HDHomeRun add-on for cable tv.
1. Using HDMI Bitstreaming sound is unstable in Kodi; sound seems to be out of sync by about 0.500s ahead of video.
2. Also sound has a bit of an echoey characteristic.

Checked PCM sound format and did have some syncing issues although they seemed to correct rather quickly.

Again video is outputted in YCbCr 4:4:4 color format which is not ideal make a somewhat dark picture and should be user adjustable; even Blu-ray players tend to give user adjustments for color format.

A Plus on picture quality, seems very clean

Also playing MKV movies via Emby for Kodi:
Video is very good
Advanced sound formats all seem to work very well this includes:
DTS-HD
TRUE-HD
Dolby ATMOS

Remote controls FF, skip etc tend to be a little iffy but this I think is more Kodi.
