Hi all, looking for some advice:
I have a Pi B+ and want to turn it into a video recorder/player. I understand I will need some hardware and software. Kodi looks like the way to go for software playback but I am unclear on what I need to record. I have read about TVheadend which seems to record directly from free-to-air digital receivers (not what I want) - but I see it can also record just AV input from a USB capture device. Is that all the software required?
Re hardware - I can find USB capture devices for AV input - but I am having difficulty finding any HDMI capture devices. Are there any HDMI USB capture devices that will work with a Pi B+?
Any advice on what hardware/software needed would be much appreciated. I'm sure someone must have done this already.
