elupus, that's what I thought, but why is there a difference between viewing same hd content in 1080i and 720p mode. in 720p mode it's smooth but in 1080i it has drops.
my hd content (1280x720) looks better at 1080i and then scaled down to 1366x768 by the tv than scaled up to 1366x768. maybe it's just me that's what I think

well.. hmm.. well.. there is quite a huge leap from 720p to 1080i (or p as we have handle it). I didn't think we would hit any gpu limit. I assume you tried the different renderers and disabled interlaced handling. If you happen to have the xdk installed and a debug bios you can check the gpu/cpu usage and see the difference.

anyway, could we please avoid talking about perf issues with renderers/special cpu's in this thread.. keep it in the other one please.
it's very O.T.

Hello elupus,
i'm not sure if this is the right Thread for my problem.
Since there is the 'new' mplayer.dll in the T3CH Releases, I have problems with playing some videos recorded with my VDR. VDR is the 'Linux Video Disk Recorder' which record in a little bit 'strange' PES format.
The older mplayer.dll has no problems playing the videos. But after the change to the new dll, some (not all) recordings don't even start. If I replace the mplayer.dll with the old version, the affected videos play. On my PC with mplayer 1.0pre8 the videos play as well.
Is this the right Thread for my problem? If yes, I could provide some debug logs or even a snippet of such a file.
Ciao,
pacemaker

Hi eluplus,
i'm having trouble playing back the following streams in the latest T3CH:
mms://213.254.239.51/tagesschau/msmedia/2007/0215/TV-20070215-0142-3701.wm.hi.wmv
rtsp://213.254.239.50/tagesschau/realmedia/2007/0507/TV-20070507-0453-3501.rv.hi.rm
This concerns all content from tagesschau.de. I was however successful in playing back the first stream in latest svn mplayer on linux. Do you have any hints to get those playing. Or would it be possible for me to build an mplayer.dll based on mplayer svn?
Thanks for your time and work
