So how do we get this fixed? This has been an issue for about 6 months at least, maybe longer. Without Vsync, tearing is horrible.

yea this is happening to me since kodi 15 , before that, i was with XBMC 13 or 12 i think ( i had problems with Live tv and i was using XBMC) and then when upgraded to kodi 15 this "working" unresponsive GUI problem has appeared. lets see what devs will do, for now im staying with vsync off.

Thanks but alas it seems to have little or nothing to do with vsync in my case. I'm not experiencing Kodi getting stuck with a spinning wheel saying 'Working' as mentioned in the other thread (I have seen it but it almost always works to press ESC once or a couple of times to get back). What I experience is a frozen/unresponsive interface when minimizing it to the apps bar (OS X) and bringing it up again. It doesn't matter whether Kodi is playing something or not or just staying idle on the home screen.

I have the same problem you're having and if I shut off Vsync, the problem appears to go away. Mind you, I might not have tested it long enough. I'll let you know.
