Hello

I have a raspberrypi with kodi on it and would like a remote thats easier to use than my phone.
So my friend has a remote of 'The little black box' which is a box that runs kodi.

The problem is that I am not knowledged enough to know for sure that if I would buy an IR-receiver and this remote that these would work on my pi.
On the tlbb forums it says to hold the button 1 and 9 simultanious to connect it to the box so does this require a specific receiver?
If so is there a receiver availeble to buy or are they just all the same?

Have a look at the FLIRC receiver:

I use this with Kodi on my RPi2 and it works just fine.
It can be used with any IR remote you might have.
The steps to configure it are:
- Load the configuration program on your Windows PC
- Connect the FLIRC adapter to the PC
- Select the Kodi preset for programming the receiver
- Go through the buttons on your remote you want Kodi to react to
- Finally save the programming

Now you are done on the PC and you can connect the FLIRC receiver to the RPi USB and then start using it inside Kodi.
As simple as that.
