Question about remotes
#1
I just got a flirc thinking, obviously without enough research, that I'd use it with my old boxeebox remote. That didn't work because it's RF and the flirc is IR.
So, in looking around on amazon I see another remote (I want one with a small keyboard like the boxee remote) that has a USB receiver and is used by people for their raspberry pi 2 kodi setups. It's on Amazon France but I'll share the link anyway so you can see what I'm talking about.
So, if it's 2.4GHz, that implies that it's also RF, right? Does anyone know of a keyboard controller that is IR so I can try to just keep my flirc? I like the programmability of the keys with flirc.

Thanks!!

You can use something like a Vizio TV replacement remote for cheap and it has an IR keyboard on one side. They work very well with a Flirc and are also inexpensive.

You could hook up the Boxee remote via USB:

That's hardly as simple as just hooking up via USB.
