When asked for username and password for the apps no letters appear in the boxes for me to chose and cannot get by this stage

Try hitting Enter or Return on your remote, a dialog box with a keyboard should come up.

I have tried this the keyboard appears on the screen but there are no letters the boxes are blank even tried to hightlght a blank box to see if something appears at the top line but nothing
