Can you get us a debug log (wiki) of when you attempt to write to the SD card?

cannot write on both Addon Backup says media is not writable

update:

I made a full recet of the Fire TV 2 and installed a clean Kodi 15.1, still no write permission on SD-Card 32 GB and USB-Stick over the file manager and backup addon

Hello Everyone.....sure hope someone can help with this ! I can't imagine this isnt a big issue with many people. Ill continue to search the site to see if there are other threads that pertain to this as well.

I have Fire TV 2 with Kodi Isengard 15.2 set up. Used ADBFire, very quick and easy the first time, painful ever since with connection issues. Now ADBFire wont recognize the Fire TV 2 as being online. (Says "Offline" under the device). Have rebooted my PC several times, as this was the solution that helped when I could get connected, but it kept running with the green bar just looping for ever. But when it worked that first time, it was awesome !

I was trying first to back up my Kodi to either the SD Card or USB without the ADBFire. Both are connected to the FireTV 2 and showing up as available.
Tried using USB/SDCard Wizard, and also the Backup add on. Neither work for me. The wizard shows an error at the start, the backup warns me that it may fail, acts like its working, but doesnt.

I have searched for hours and did find one person that said the Fire TV 2 is the problem. It won't let you write to the media by design. At least not in this fashion. Is that correct ? Because it sure would explain why the backup is not working for me as well as many others ! The person that was pointing this out didnt sound as if he (or she) was guessing either. They said this will be an issue until there is a fix applied to Kodi.

If this is the case, do we think will Kodi may do something with an update to make these back up utilities work?

If not, can someone tell me if they have successfully backed up their Kodi application from a Fire TV 2 and with using Isengard 15.2. I really want to not only have a backup, but also be able to set up a couple more units.

I have the error log in case it helps.........

hi,

I still have the problem that i can't write to SD or USB with Kodi, too.
Read yes, but not write,
I asked in two other Forums but i never got an answer Huh? Even when I asked if someone else has these problems, it cannot be that no one else has this problem.

Maybe be two are the only one running Kodi on a FireTV4 K LOL.

On the first FireTV you can write on the USB.

i am running on 15.2 and use adbFire on OSX, also i use a ftp server to transfair sometimes some files.
sometimes I have the same problem the ist sais offline. I close adbfire and restart the fire TV, also I couldn't writhe with over ftp, restart and it worked again.
but most times it works fine.
So I use adbfire to make a complete backup from 15.2, but to my MAC not to the SD or USB

I read that this could be a Problem with/from Android 5 and Google under Android 4 it worked

sorry that I can halp
but you are not alone bro
