Hi All, I tried to install Kodi on my x86_64 Ubuntu mate install on my Lenovo S210 notebook, GPU is an integrated Intel chip.
Kernel: 3.19.0-30-generic
Kodi version: 15.1 Git:d496682 Media Center Kodi from the PPA.

When starting Kodi I get to see the splash screen for a second, then I am back to the desktop. Terminal output is:

chris@funkbook:~$ kodi --debug
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: undefined symbol: yajl_gen_alloc


When I google this error message, I get zero hits!!??
Any idea anyone?

sudo apt-get install libyajl2

That package was already installed on the system. The error message stays the same.
Bummer...
