Not sure if there is a setting I'm missing, but when I add a timer I have the option to continue the recording after the scheduled end of the program. However, this only seems to go up to 1 additional hour. Is there a way to choose a longer period? I've had some sporing events run long and missed the end. Two hours would probably do, I wonder if there would be a way to make an option for a data entry field and add any arbitrary amount of time.

I agree with this, there should be an option for very long padding. Some backends, like serverwmc, will auto lengthen the end padding of a sporting event by an override set in the backend itself. Check to see if the backend you are using supports this.

Another way is to record the next program as well. Which backend are you using by the way?
