"Get Windows 10" Icon
#1
Just though I'd share... I recently got annoyed by the Windows 10 icon on my WMC/ServerWMC PC and figured out how to remove. Apparently a Windows update to 7 and 8 installed an app that puts the icon in the notification tray and bugs you to upgrade. Follow below to remove.

Control Panel -> System and Security -> View Installed Updates. Using the search box or manually looking, find KB3035583 and click uninstall. This will remove the WXUX.exe application which runs at startup.

I second that - something I planned on looking into but never got around to. I have upgraded around ten pcs to win10 to date and have always done it by direct download from ms, the icon auto-upgrade has never come through for me.

Anyone else have to uninstall it twice before it went away? I had to uninstall 2 times on two different machines... Starting to think I'm going crazy...

Also it will try to re-install it right away... you need to right click and select Hide Update.
