I am using my 55" smart tv as a second monitor for my laptop. When I play a movie the picture occupies all of the screen's width but only about 50% of the screen's height. How would I go about correcting this?
Thanks for any suggestions supplied.

Whats the aspect ratio of the film? most Films are filmed in 2:35:1 while almost all TVs are 1.78:1. This means the film is not as tall as most screens giving you letterboxing. If you try and fill the screen you will stretch the picture and everyone will look tall and slim.
check the source material to see what the video resolution is.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just found your reply and will investigate aspect ratio. You know, when I described my problem I had not noticed that all output from Kodi only occupied part of the vertical screen. Would this be due to aspect ratio?
