My deleted thread - Single channel not working
#1
Update on my banned post. A SINGLE channel wasn't working. When i watch the channel selection on the HDHRP freq check, it looks like its going to the wrong frequency (SLATE vs Food network). I did a check on another kodi which worked so it looks like it might be the installation has gone whacky on the client. Next step is to rebuild the Kodi box and see if it works. I've deleted the EPG and "Reset PVR" with no luck.

Still a most awesome product and any problems almost always are because Comcast decided to switch channel frequencies every few months.

It might be worth checking the sources of this channel in wmc, and seeing if the slate channel is at the bottom of the source list (by default swmc uses sources at the bottom of the list, while wmc takes them from the top). If your guide data has been going through some changes wmc could end up in a state like this. This is probably not the case since it works on another kodi, but just throwing it out there to check before you rebuild everything.

thanks. I've done a "reset" on WMC by setting up the signal again. I would hope that resets the EPG and the freqs it locks on to.

Deleted everything I could find on wmc, swmc, and the client. It keeps messing up. Wmc works just fine and everything works in wmc. On kodi and swmc, doesn't work. Some channels work, others don't. Thoughts?

Post a serverwmc log file on pastebin.com after trying to live stream of these problem channels, then put a link to it here.

now i can't even get serverwmc to start..so happy right now.

Despite the error, i can see the guide and play shows without a problem in WMC.

You have it set to only use channels found in the hdhr lineup (i.e. IsUsingHDHRChannelLineUpOnly is set true), and for some reason it is not finding the hdhr lineup xml file. I suggest turning this setting off and restarting serverwmc. You can redo your hdhr setup later.

thats the error when i try to tune to Food..though it seems to happen on a few other channels. Kodi responds with "no video data" which i imagine is not as useful as the pastebin.

This is kind of weird..its ignoring some of my channels?

Swmc is not getting data from the channel, or its possible that the data is taking too long. You can increase the time swmc waits for the data, using this setting:

<Timeout_WaitForTS_MS>10000</Timeout_WaitForTS_MS>

The units are mili-sec. Try doubling this setting and see if it makes a difference.

The the ignored channels, swmc by default ignores channel numbers above 9000. But you can change this too, in the same setting file this is the default setting:

<HideOutOfRangeChannels>true</HideOutOfRangeChannels>
<ChannelOutOfRangeMAX>9000</ChannelOutOfRangeMAX>

After making these changes. Save the settings file, then restart swmc.

IsStreamingWTV>false</IsStreamingWTV>
<Timeout_WaitForTS_MS>20000</Timeout_WaitForTS_MS>
<RemuxRecoverTime_MS>500</RemuxRecoverTime_MS>
<RemuxParseMinHeadersForAudio>500</RemuxParseMin

2015/10/28 07:27:02.676 OpenLiveStream> error: Stream file 'ts' does not exist (likely no data was found to remux), timeout: 20,000 ms reached.

Doubled..same problem. Now it just takes longer to error out Smile

Now this is what the HDHRP is saying

Successful play in WMC ->20151028-11:42:04 Tuner: tuner2 tuning 839 FOODD__FOOD_NET (auto:141MHz-2)
Successful play in WMC ->20151028-11:42:04 Tuner: tuner2 streaming rtp to 192.168.1.50:5001
Successful play in WMC ->20151028-11:42:05 CableCARD: tuner2 839 FOODD__FOOD_NET (auto:141MHz-2) access = subscribed
Failure play from Kodi ->20151028-11:42:50 CableCARD: vchannel 231 unknown (not found)

First off, you should set the time back to 10s.

I think I see what the problem is, looking more carefully at the log of the failed 'food' run you last posted, swmc says there are 6 tuner sources for the food network, however, in the log you posted before that, it shows that you only have 3 tuners (that's why its always helpful for us to have the whole log). So even though you 'reset' wmc, I think it is still confused on the tuner sources for the food network, i.e. you have three bogus tuner sources set in wmc's configuration. So in wmc, look at the tuner sources for the food network and disable the three 'extra' tuners, probably located at the bottom of the source list. If you aren't sure how to do that let me know and I'll give you more detail.

Since only one channel has the problem you only have to fix one channel, right?

i ran guidetool and i'm not sure quite how to read it yet..but it looks like half of the channels may have more than 3 tuners. Still researchign that bit.

Awesome. So about 25% of my channel listed 3 extra tuners..took care of that. Also identified that my recorded tv folder was set wrong, had to fix that (reinstall redefaulted to users/recorded/), and then kodi needed to cache the u/p. Fun. But it works! thanks Krusty!
