im using kodi 15.2 and the latest pvrwmc.. when i boot up kodi, it shows it pulling in the pvrwmc data, but the tv tab doesnt show up to let me see the recordings tab and tv options...
it was working previously, then suddenly the tab stopped appearing..
pvrwmc says the client is connrcted to it, but since theres no tv tab, i cant actually do anything...
any idea why the tv tab wont appear despite it connecting to the pvr backend?

please post a ServerWMC log to pastebin... and if that doesnt show anything on ServerWMC side we'd need a Kodi debug log too please. If no channels get transferred then Kodi wont show the TV section, so something may be causing no channels to get sent over... a log should shed some light on things.

apparently kodi was reading all my channels as drm copy once, which they arent, but by unchecking the hide drm channels in pvrwmc, it loaded the tv tab in kodi and got everything working now.. such a stupid simple solution

well you've more so applied a work around... if they are not actually DRM then it would be best to get to the bottom of why ServerWMC thinks they are DRM. have you done the basic things like restarting the WMC/ServerWMC box? Failing that, rescannnig the channels in WMC, which is definitely a pain so at that point you might choose to leave the workaround in place!

i can tell they arent drm copy once since they actually play in kodi right now, (any channels that really are drm, just show a blackscreen in kodi)), but every channel got marked as drm in pvr wmc regardless

Yep exactly, hence there is some problem in WMC/ServerWMC
Changing the option in ServerWMC whether to hide drm channels or not is making it send them to Kodi, but isn't "fixing" the actual problem which is incorrect drm detection
Did you restart the server? Post a ServerWMC log on pastebin?

do you know of the easiest way to find out what channels are drmed with what type without going through each channel on its own?

If you have an hdhr tuner just look at the lineup.xml file to see what has DRM. If you don't, then set the following setting to true in swmc's settings file:
<Debug_ChannelDetail>true</Debug_ChannelDetail>
After making the change, save the file, then restart swmc. I will print out lots of detail about all your channels after it starts up.
