Kodi crashes daily after 15.2 update
#1
Hi
I updated Kodi to 15.2 a few days ago and from that time on Kodi crashes daily. I'm running Kodi 15.2 och Mac OS X 10.11.1. I also tried to do a clean install of Kodi but still experience these crashes.

Crash report:

I am also having a problem with 15.2 crashing daily on OSX. Kodi crashes very soon after I shut down my Receiver and TV - but I leave Kodi running on a Mac Mini on OSX.

The relevant crash logs are:
Your debug kodi.log: http://xbmclogs.com/piv84kat8
Your debug kodi.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/pyk3x0spv
And the OSX Kodi crash log is at: http://www.xbmclogs.com/prmtgyxwm

I would be very grateful for any advice that anyone can offer!
Thanks - Peter

Those debug Logs don't seem to Match the Crash log - any chance that you have a Joystick or game Controller connected to that Mac?

Thanks for looking at these, Memphiz!
The main OSX crash log shows the crash at 22:00:17. Kodi.old.log ends at 22:00:14 - so that is the one just before the crash, I think!
I do not have a joystick or game controller connected to the Mac.
However, I have done a bit more testing - using Screen sharing to test and watch different scenarios.
The crashes occur straight after I turn off my AV Receiver - and I think you can see in Kodi.old.log that Kodi is trying to adjust to the changed sound and display parameters after losing the Receiver connection.
The crash also happens only if I have a menu list item selected, and not if ".." is selected at the top of list - which is a little strange! For example, on the list of recently added TV shows - it will crash if any TV episode is highlighted, but not if ".." at the top of the list is highlighted.
So I can avoid the crashes just by moving my selection up to the ".." at the top of a menu list, before I turn off the Receiver Smile
That workaround is probably enough for me until the next version of Kodi is released - where hopefully the problem disappears Smile
Regards - Peter
