Creating highlight footage - how?
#1
I've searched google for a good half of an hour. I'm a brand new kodi user with one primary goal: creating highlight footage of an existing video (or set of videos) without generating new files.

For example, if I have a set of football game videos and I want to define the beginning and end of all touchdown plays and sacks and then be able to watch just those plays by this metadata (e.g. - touchdown highlights).

I hope that I'm sorely mistaken. Does this functionality exist already?

Solution would probably involve this: http://kodi.wiki/view/Bookmarks_and_chapters

It cant tag the end of a "highlight" but you could easily keep skipping to the next one.

Isn't there an option to have a file (can't remember the name or ext) next to the video and within that file have jump points that it will automatically jump to? I could've sworn I read something about this when someone was asking about avoiding nudity/sex scenes in films. Anyways, it would require you to manually set each file for each video but it should be doable....

EDL is what you need to look for (that's Edit Decision List). http://kodi.wiki/view/Edl
