I was trying again open source drivers and I remember that drivers appear to compile OK but when it arrives to tbs6980fe.o it says:

we could think that installation stops because of that right? is there any way to avoid this file and continue compiling?

i do make install getting this:

make -C /root/DriverCrazyCat/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l install

but after reboot it still not work and I cannot see anything with dmesg

I contacted crazycat and the only that he could said is that TBS 5881 uses si2157/si2168 demod (perhaps another tuner uses this chip)?

any ideas?

HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM DID YOU GET A FIX FOR IT..............I AM USING TBS QBOXS2...5928.....LSUSB SHOW

I have a TBS5881 tunner, I played it on windows success,
in lunux, I've build and make install as guideline describe , but its not appear as a device , there is no folder /dev/dvb after make and install ,

I think the driver is okay , becoz when I run a virtual machine windows, and connect device to VM, its work fine there.

is there any full guideline to install and test this tuner in linux ( ubuntu 14.04 )
