New to Kodi and need guidance!

Hey guys.

I am new to Kodi and was wondering if you can give me some guidance as to whether or not to download the latest version or an older version? I will primarily use this to watch EPL via NBC Sports Live Extra but have no idea how to set this up. If I could get some help that would be great.
