I have installed xperience1080p since helix and i still cant get the backgrounds to be displayed in the menu screens. when kodi launches i see the screen for a second then it gets dimmed.

i tried the new version with kodi isengard today and still the same problem. i installed it also on a mac and still the same issue happens.

i could only get it working when running a modded version of the theme.

is this a bug or an issue from my side?

i am running kodi isengard on windows on mac mini and my other desktop pc, and kodi helix on mac osx lion on the mac mini and all have the same problem.

On top of the backgrounds is a layer that dims it down in order to increase visibility of menu elements etc. You can customise this overlay in the skin settings. There are already different presets.

There is an overlay. You can change this in Skin Settings - I've included various percentages of black from 10% to 90%, as well as other colours.
