I can cornfirm that I now get working Dolby Digital and transcoding of DTS without using OMXPlayer (that didn't support transcoding to AC3), previously it would only play as PCM white noise. My configuration is RPi2 -> HDMI -> Sony TV -> Optical SPDIF -> Sony Receiver, with a clean install of OpenELEC 6.0.1 upgraded to Millhouse #0219.

Good to hear. Any other user who had working passthrough with omxplayer enabled, but no pssthrough with omxplayer disabled, then please test the latest build.

I have the same problem. RPi -> HDMI -> Sony TV -> Optical SPDIF -> Denon Receiver.

Hello popcornmix and milhouse,

here is a sample (7.zip) from 3 DTS files in wave.

I am not able to play one after another on my first RPi2 (sound over HDMI) - on my second with hifiberryDAC there is no problem.
On both Rpi are the last build.

Same issue with master build on Ubuntu. DTS passthrough enabled and track stalls at end. Disable DTS passthrough and it continues to next track as expected.
I've pinged FernetMenta about it.
Thanks popcornmix,
have seen also now great proplems with dts passtrough on newest kodi win32 "20160221-d1e9c0a-Jarvis" build.

murphy's law ;-)

Kodi 16 master works with dts, but track also stalls at end.

Bisecting the builds would certainly help narrow down the change that introduced the issue.

Olympia is convinced it's not a addon problem - "if there is a NFO file there then the Universal Artist Scraper won't be invoked"..

So I've been busy bisecting builds and finally tracked it down

#0210 works
#0211 and later - crash..
In build 0222, the comm skip is working better - it no longer gets stuck after the skip. Nice work!

I also added the file: /storage/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<advancedsettings>
  <edl>
    <commbreakautowait>10</commbreakautowait>
    <commbreakautowind>2</commbreakautowind>
  </edl>
</advancedsettings>
and rebooted. The comm skip does not appear to honor those edl settings.
