I notice that the version of pycaption that is with Kodi is ver 0.5.3.
Does anyone know if this version works with Python 2.6 (which I think is the Python version we have for Android)?
Are there any alternatives for the Android platform?

nope, pycaption requires 2.7: https://github.com/pbs/pycaption

as a sidenode, since today (Kodi K***) all platforms will use python 2.7.10

Thanks and Yeah! for 2.7.10. The Android 2.6 version has been a pain limiting some functions/modules I would like to use.
Hopefully I can get all the caption stuff in my addons fixed in Kodi K***.
