Hi,

i am using openhab as an home automation system and i experienced this behaviour:

openHAB is able to send notification via the json rpc api (here is the link to the specific source part CLICK).

I got kodi running on a firetv. If kodi is in the background the rule engine of openhab stalls if i try to send a notification to kodi.

If i bring kodi in the foreground on the firetv all messages are displayed immediately.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in kodi. Maybe kodi doesn't closes the http connection if it is not possible to deliver the notification?

I don't know where to look in the kodi source code so i doesn't create an issue on github.
