Hi,
I am new to kodi and have not been able to figure out if this is possible or not..
I have a android box (zidoo X9) that has recording functions via HDMI input.
The recording function is VERY basic, however it does record.

Is it possible to use the Kodi PVR area to record instead of the zidoo x9 software?
There is no IPTV that I am using, this is just a direct connection from my dish (vip211) receiver to the zidoo x9 via a HDMI cable.

Right now I am using 15.2, but am downloading 16b3 now.

Not unless someone like example Zidoo C/C++ developers codes a PVR client addon for Kodi's PVR API that specifically for this, see http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR and http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=136

Not exactly something that just anyone can whip up in a day or two.

Suggest that you try contact Zidoo C/C++ developers via their own forum and submit this idea as a feature request; they probabably have the skills but question is if they have the time and interest to prioritize the writting of a such PVR client addon in C/C++ for Kodi's PVR API http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php
