Hello,

I'm running Kodi on an Android box. My SQL library is on a different computer which Kodi finds though advancedsettings.xml.

If I start the PIA app to connect to the VPN, Kodi will not start since it cannot find my library.

Is there a way to allow Kodi to find my library on my LAN whilst running the PIA app?

This is a VPN or Android issue, not a Kodi issue. You'll need to figure out, possibly through your VPN provider support, how to set up a different route for LAN traffic.

take a look here and try the openvpn app for android and config files from your vpn provider 241658 (thread)

Using OpenVPN for Android seems to have worked!
