Hello New to the form so sorry for posting this if its already been asked, I did look but had no joy.

I have a Raspberry PI 2 Running Openelec. There is a Video Add on I want to put on to my PI, There is no REPO available for me to download this add on so I have downloaded the zip file to my computer. I have installed the add on to my MAC book and was nice and simple but because openelec OS does not have a root folder on the SD card I'm struggling where to put the Zip file.

if anyone has any ideas or even an alternative OS that will allow me to do this is would be much appreciated

You don't need a root folder to install a add-on zip file.
Just load the zip file from usb network share or any other shared folder on your pi

Don't know why I didn't think of that. will loading it on a pen drive work ?

yeah and install from zip and goto the zip file on you usb stick
