What is the easiest and cheapest way to get live TV in the u.s. ? I see success stories with tuxbox / dreambox, but these are Europe-only systems right ?

My needs are really simple:

- live tv
- tv ability to change channel from xbmc

I don't need pvr functionality, since I'm getting shows I follow from other sources anyway. The host system can run Linux or Windows, doesn't really matter. The only thing I care about is the end result.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

are you looking to stream to xbox or just watch tv? I like viewsat. just google it.

I use mythtv, currently it does all those things and there's an xbmc plugin for it. the only unfortunate thing is mythtv is a pain in the but to setup but I've found the easiest and fastest way of setting it all up is using mythdora it automates the install and setup from linux to mythtv.

I want to be able to stream to the xbox. gzusrax, I might give mythtv a shot. Will it perform fast enough on a P4 1.4Ghz ?
