No, I still stand by my original statement. It doesn't output frame packing 3D on Minix Amlogic devices.

Okay, thanks. I believe VidOn is outputting 3D ISO's in top/bottom on Tronsmart S95 (@opeters, can you confirm if this is still happening) & Minix U1. I can confirm it's doing so on my cheapo Beelink Mini MX. So, it may only be doing properly-combined 3D output on Minix X8-H Plus, but I'm not buying it just to confirm if it's full 3D output using @popcornmix's disconnect 3D display/connect 2D/reconnect 3D method.

PS I didn't split the thread.

I tried thinking from a different perspective and I am now assuming that what wolly is trying to say is what happens when you force the 3D output to a 2D only display. I don't know how else the "green bar" can be explained on a 2D display. Should we expect a green line running across the middle of the video when 3D BD ISO is rendered as 2D? That would be one hell of a distraction!

I saw you online right at the time when the posts were split. So, I kind of assumed you were the one who did the split. My bad... I will remove that reference Smile

3D Blu-rays contain a 2D H264 1080/24p (or in some cases 720/50p or 60p) stream - which should replay fine when output at 2D (that's how Blu-ray is backwards compatible)

There is an additional MVC stream that allows a second 1080p (or 720p) feed to be reconstructed from the H264 2D stream which can then be output over HDMI as 1080/24p frame packed (i.e. 1920x2205) or 720/50p or 60p frame packed (i.e. 1280x1470) in full resolution for full resolution 3D replay.

Some platforms that have 3D MVC decode but don't have 3D Frame Packed output over HDMI can output MVC as 1920x1080 or 1280x720 in HSBS (960x1080 / 640x720) or HTAB (1920x540 / 1280x360) resolution in a standard 2D-style HDMI signal (relying on the TV to switch into HSBS / HTAB processing mode and scale up the half resolution eye feeds to full-screen). It IS possible to signal in the HDMI 1920x1080 or 1280x720 stream that the signal contains HSBS or HTAB and trigger the TV to go into the right processing mode (I think there is a simple code you can embed in blanking)

I have no idea at all what is going on if you end up with a 2D 1080p output mode and a green bar (unless some oddball 1920x2205 to 1920x1080 scaling is going on and the green bar is the blanking between the left and right eye frames in a frame packed signal scaled to a 2D signal?)

@wesk05, I think you said you used a HDMI analyzer that shows VidOn's output on AML is half-rez right?

It shows the 3D structure as 0110 in HDMI VSIF. The VIC in this particular case is 32. This translates to Top/Bottom 3D 1080p 24Hz. Since Wolly has questioned my expertise, I will double check and confirm the results before I make any further comments on this.

This may be useful : http://etmriwi.home.xs4all.nl/forum/hdmi...action.pdf Details VICs and VSIFs for 3D content over HDMI (the appendices are full of esoteric standards that are unlikely to be encountered) but page 10 is probably of interest.

As wesk05 says - the VSIF of 0110 in 3D Structure = Top and Bottom, and the VIC of 32 = 1080p23.976/24

For 3D Frame Packed 1080p23.976/24 you'd expect a 3D Structure VSIF of 0000 and a VIC of 32.

I'm going to put my trust in wesk05's, hard empirical data with Frame Packing analysed on proper HDMI test equipment than any marketing Spiel from a device seller.

On stock firmware and stock Vidon XBMC 14.X it plays 3D Bluray ISO in FullHD.
However it does not do autoframerate as far as I know. I have to set Android to 1080Px24 to get into the 1080Px24[3D] mode.
If I set it on 1080Px60 I get 1080Px60[3D] on the Marantz Receiver (odd) which was causing the glidges. In 1080Px24 it looks rather smooth but no 3D PGS subs and no 3D GUI. Also I experience a lot of skips in all video sources I tested.

Can someone explain the P(fr:23.976... source info vs. the W( fps:23.xx info?

I would wait until Tronsmart, Vidon and Amlogic fixes the AC3 and DTS issues

Thanks for the demo clip you PM'd me. Looks like 3D output indeed, but as it has been discussed quite a bit today, unknown if it's full rez 3D.

Can you report what you see when you bring the cursor all the way down to the bottom of the screen while playing a 3D BD ISO?

Can you also try @popcornmix's plug/unplug/replug test? Thanks.

When I do that the cursor appears on the top side. Like this:
Mouse Arrow all the way down..

Sorry not gonna do that on my equipment. There should be another way to test this.

just look at the different 3d options your tv has.. if its playing top and bottom it most likely will give you 2d to 3d conversion and a bunch of other 3d tv options? if its full 3d you get a different set most often. you can test that by playing a hsbs mkv and look at your 3d tv options and comparing that to when you play a 3d iso via the vidon xbmc.

F*** it, ordered it to try myself (will have it by Friday). Had ordered and cancelled, but we need more testers on this. If it's a POS, it's Amazon with easy returns, so no risk.
