no dts-hdma, we are right were you left off ;-) nothing has progressed really, latest builds seem to not freeze the whole device as much.

Zidoo X5 ($59): From movie78's impressions below
  • + TrueHD, including ATMOS = pass/bitstream properly
  • + DTS-HD MA = Passes properly
  • + 10-Bit HEVC (H.265) = passes properly
  • + 8-bit HEVC (H.265) = passes properly
  • - 3D MVC MKV & 3D ISO = playback as HOU (top/bottom)
  • - Poor support as Zidoo's attention is all over the place
  • - Using ZDMC = possible Kodi trademark issue
Also see this thread for 3D playback aspects.

10-Bit HEVC 1080 (H.265) not playing properly.
Only 720/10 bit is working fine

Beelink Mini MX ($41) w/Custom OpenELEC: C- Still meh, w/little real advancement since release
(See here for latest builds by developer "Alex")
Since early March, there are many audio bug fixes in the build. You could use a bit of updating this post. Smile

Yep - Dolby True HD bit streaming now working too.

No PCM 5.1/7.1 and no DTS-HD MA/HRA.

I'm running the April 25th 6.95.2.1 build from here : http://amlinuxmedia.com/forum/index.php?topic=13.0 (You may need to register)

Thanks guys... I'm no longer actively testing any of the boxes in post #1; just trying to keep it updated for everyone Smile. @noggin, please feel free to edit post #1 if you see any edits should be there.

MINI MX

- OTA update 05-06-2016 worked as expected. (turned device on, was notified of update, update happened)
- Update fixes refresh rate automation, finally this box is usable for both live TV and Movie playback.
- still no DTS-HD support

Thanks @wrxtasy, @kerber

Yes - just updated. Confirmed DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio working on test clips, alongside Dolby True HD, on my Mini MX. Yay!!!

As I haven't kept up, any idea if Alex will go LibreELEC (vs. OpenELEC), and any such progress on Android side?

Not sure - think they (another developer) are still trying to stabilise the LibreElec codebase, but I'd hope that Alex moves over.

the new directory structure is so the OTA updates work.

Also, I dont have Android on one of these boxs anymore, but afaik 107L is the latest OS version and its still buggy and still without working refesh rate switching in Kodi.
