So I had an idea to create a dashboard in Kodi where the menu screen would look like the image below (screenshot is based on the Maximinimalism skin).

Has anybody every seen a skin that already looks like that? Anything close? If nothing like this exists, how much would I be biting off to try and put something together (I've never done any skinning in Kodi but know my way around a computer).

I thought that I did have a more appropriate place but I guess not :-).

I'm not making requests of anybody (definitely not a feature request for Kodi) and am more asking questions but maybe we are just playing semantics here. Let's see what happens.

From what I understand, this would involve writing an add-on that provided it's own interface (as in, more than just a directory listing like most content add-ons).

Although, from your example image ( http://postimg.org/image/ft8o3m5ol/ ), that's not super complex. It could probably be done by modifying a home screen from an existing skin.

That's about all I know, though. I'm not too familiar with skinning or python. The wiki has some stuff, though: add-on development (wiki)
