As documented in http://kodi.wiki/view/List_of_media_sour...in_Sources , a plugin can provide a source for users to browse/add to the library. I would like to see an example of that.

I don't have a directory "plugins" inside my kodi configuration directory, for instance, and I don't know if I must create it myself, if it is a typo, or what.

Is any addon out there using this functionality that I can study?

wiki docs might have been a bit confusing.

a plugin is just an addon you can install throught he addon browser in Kodi.
the YouTube addon is an example of a plugin addon that provides a video source.
