v17 Shield ATV - Krypton (pre) Alpha 1 PT audio issues & Test Builds
Funny - I clearly had a miscalculation there, which should cause buffersize(ms) / 2 offset. So ~ 160 ms with TrueHD for audio ahead.

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk has this initial off fixed.

I will test tomorrow. Nightynight

I am a little confused here. What exactly do you mean by "tunneling"?

The native Android video player seems to have no problem playing DTS-HD Master Audio 24/192 tracks. It does struggle with Dolby TrueHD tracks.

Check the screenshots. In the Dolby one Kodi codec info shows 192kHz, and on the DTS one it shows 48kHz, but in both the cases the AVR is showing 192kHz Huh
Kodi debug log also shows the DTS stream as 48kHz.

Logs:

Tunnel: I open the sink with 48 khz, afterwards it detects that the stream is 192 khz and does what is needed :-) Remember it is a compressed format - we have limited to no influence what Android does. For example 44.1 khz AC3 is plain played back at 48 khz no matter what you do. We even open the sink with 44.1 khz but it does what it wants afterwards.

So in short it's a damn hack, nothing more.

Okay - looking at your log: I really like the DTSHD log, quite impressive the sync always keeps ~ 50 ms in buffer.

For TrueHD it's not that good, cause of the blocking the delay is always 0.0 - that means the stream is quite likely to underrun sometime.

That is what I was referring to in my earlier post.
Could you please post another Debug Log with DTSHD and TrueHD running this version: http://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/Android-ARM/7062/ please?

I want to see if TrueHD still somehow "underruns".

Are you rounding 44-46ms to 50ms?

With 48kHz or 192kHz?
Rounding, I wrote ~ which is the sign for around :-) - so yes I am estimating.

For the latter should not matter.

Played a BD copied with makemkv. It contains 3 audio formats according to the folder text
PCM uncompressed stereo
PCM uncompressed 5.1 surround sound 48kHz/24-bit
Dolby Digital 5.1 surrond sound 640kbps
Kodi shows 4 audio formats
Stereo
AC3 5.1
Dolby TrueHD 5.1
AC3 5.1

Started to play the TrueHD audio
Changed chapter, which didn't work that well, but after I pressed some times I got audio and video
Played TrueHD for some minutes.
Changed to stereo and played for some minute
Changed to AC35.1 and played some minute
Changed back to TrueHD and stopped

However I think the uploaded log don't show the whole sequence.
Thank you very much! That's very useful.

TrueHD is also tending to underrun for you.

Can you please only play TrueHD with: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...mirrorlist after it is up?

And after that please play DTSHD in a separate log

Thanks much.

Do you want a video with TrueHD 48 kHz or the Kings of Leon Video?
The TrueHD log
http://xbmclogs.com/pbt5t1tre

The DTSHD log
http://xbmclogs.com/p2q83ezji
http://xbmclogs.com/puovinizg - DTS-HD Master Audio
http://xbmclogs.com/p29d8jon0 - Dolby TrueHD

These are 1-min samples. Both of them take about 2 sec. to sync, plays fine.
