Xvid files using GMC have smearing artefacts when using hardware acceleration, on Kodi 14.2.
Software decode plays fine.
I read that hardware decoders don't support GMC.
Do newer Kodi versions handle this situation differently? I heard that e.g. 10bit h264 is forced to software decode automatically in Kodi 15.
(Although unsuccessfully on RasPi, as it doesn't have the power for software playback of Hi10p. Typical Xvid files are old and small and shouldn't be so taxing on compute power.)
It would be cute if hardware/software decode switch were more easily accessible of course, like in player menu, not buried under settings.
