Linux Kodi 15.2 crashes Linux 14.04 LTS on video playback or idle
#1
I purchased a Lenovo m53 to use as a HTPC, installed Linux, Plex and Kodi. The unit is stable for days as a Plex Media Server, but if I launch Kodi it will crash linux every time (no response to input, SSH), normally during video playback from mounted external HD. I thought it might be a Plex issue, so I stopped Plex and it still crashes during playback.

I’m new to Kodi and to Linux and hate asking for help, but I haven't been able to figure this one out. Any advice would be appreciated.

First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

No problem, you are welcome - just gave that answer 4 times the last two days.

I wish you luck with that little machine.

Edit: Check by in the EGL testing thread (stick in that forum) and see the first post.
