I just got a Roku 2 & now have best of both worlds.At least until the magic unicorns start breeding again.

A HDMI splitter will solve your lack of HDMI ports.

I've tried HDMI splitters in the past but they don't play well with my current receiver, they seem to produce EDID issues.

Maybe a new receiver, new Fire TV Stick/Box and my current Chromebox is the way forwards.
