tinyMediaManager
tinyMediaManager is a media management tool written in Java/Swing. It is written to provide metadata for the Kodi Media Center (formerly known as XBMC), MediaPortal and Plex media server. Due to the fact that it is written in Java, tinyMediaManager will run on Windows, Linux and macOS (and possible more OS where Java is available).

About
tinyMediaManager aims to be a universal tool to manage your media library (movies and TV shows) by
  • Download meta data from online sources
  • Download artwork
  • create NFO files for further usage by media centres like Kodi
  • rename/manage your media file structure

tinyMediaManager v2/v3 were completely free but will not get any more features (v3 will get just urgent bug fixes).
tinyMediaManager v4 will come in two flavors:

FREE version, which includes:
  • base functionality of tinyMediaManager (update data sources, scrape, rename, edit, export, command line interface, ...)
  • TMDB scraper

PRO version, which includes:
  • all other scrapers (IMDB, OMDB, Universal, Kodi, ...)
  • trailer download
  • subtitle download
  • Trakt.tv integration

Similar to Firefox, we are building a 3-tier release strategy (nightly, prerelease, release) for tinyMediaManager now. Its goal is to find/fix bugs, before they hit the public.
While nightly builds are not stable enough to be used in a productive environment, the release is too late to test. This is, why we now introduce a new build, which is called the prerelease build. It is built a few days before we publish a new version and is rather stable.

To use another tier, it is recommended to "install" it to a separate folder.
