Is anyone else having issues with running kodi on an Amazon fire stick with sky broadband?

I load up kodi, its begins to load for a few minutes then suddenly goes off to a black screen then the Amazon fire stick restarts and goes back to loading up.

is this something to do with sky broadband? because i know bt users have to disable bt smart setup to avoid issues.

I dont think Sky has anything like that i have full fibre and cant say i've seen anything resembling that.

Update: I now have 2 friends who this is happening to and they are also on sky and have several other friends using kodi on fire sticks with other service providers working fine.
this only seems to be happening with sky broadband.

Your internet has nothing to do with it. Kodi doesn't even require an internet connection to run.

It's more likely your Fire stick came with Pirated addons pre installed which are not supported here.
Not even are those build illegal but also badly coded and have old versions of Kodi
