Running Jarvis RC3 on nexus player with latest system image. Live tv paused will just stop when the nexus player goes to screen saver and is then reawakened. When clicking a button on the remote to bring up the kodi interface again it is simply back at the guide instead of still on the paused tv. I have tried this with the nextpvr backend and the WMC backend. Same thing happens with both.

Anyone else see this?

I've come across this and as annoying and stupid this change is, they did it on purpose. Massive step backwards in book since Kodi can't prevent the Android screensaver.

That is incredible. Why on earth would they do that intentionally? Surely they are considering either changing that back or exposing an option to turn that off.

5.3 ANDROID: Video playback stops when another app is in focus

This is expected behavior for newer Google APIs and how Kodi v16 works. In addition to making sure that the new video decoding APIs are working correctly, this also has the side effect of making sure Kodi doesn't prevent other apps from using video, such as Netflix, even if Kodi is still open.

To prevent this from happening when a video is paused, make sure that Kodi's screensaver is either off or using a screensaver other than "Dim" or "Black". That will prevent the Android screensaver/daydream from becoming active.
