Ubuntu and PCIE wifi adapter suggestion...

Question
I am building my first HTPC.
I am using part from an older desktop that was just sitting around in a closet.
I will have it running on an old:
-nvidia 790i
-Intel Core 2 Dou E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
-8 G Ram
-nvidia 750(still to purchase---running old gtx 260 without sound as i set up..)
-60G SSD(also yet to purchase...running okay off old 120G ATA HHD).

My problem is that the router is on the other side of the room, and my wife does not want to see ethernet cable running along the wall....so I need a wifi adapter.

I have an open PCIE slot on the motherboard that would not block any video card slots(not that i need more than one video card).

My question, because I have found it difficult to find(my google is weak Sad ) are there any 600+ transfer rate pcie wifi adapters that can use native drivers with ubuntu?
I tried to install another, but it was broadcom and that was unsuccessful...the ndiswrapper install failed when I tried to install the utilities package from Ubuntu HowTo, and it won't uninstall/reinstall properly....

Thank you for your assistance!

I'd consider a power line adapter before WiFi. Plugs into your mains like a power cable and very reliable.
