Hi

I'm new in Kodi, trying to switch after being on Media Portal for 5+ years.

First I searching for a good and simple movie add-on just for my own local dvd/BR rips.
I find a lot of movie add-ons but they seem to be for streaming. I dont want that.

So any suggestions for a good movie addon just for managing local movies, meaning on my HTPC?
Still being able to display nice fanart, movie information, perhaps even subtitles, and so on.

The same goes for TV-series. I dont want to stream, just manage and display the local, TVseries have on my HTPC?

It sounds like what you want to do is set up a library.
http://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_videos_to_the_library
Add source > set content > scan and kodi picks up metadata - info, pretty pictures.
You can then access via Movies and TV (library views) rather than Videos (files).
