Unfortunately, I discovered that the latest versions of Kodi Remote for iOS are not compatible with Eden (XBMC v11) anymore.

I am using Eden on an old AppleTV 1. Up to last year the app worked flawlessly, but since the more recent upgrades, movies, tv shows, music or any other listing defaults to an error. Luckily the remote still works.

Are there any ways to restore these lost functionalities?

Have you considered using OSMC? It works on the ATV1's https://osmc.tv/download/

thanks bonelifer, I didn't know of OSMC and it is definitively interesting, and I might take it for a spin since it runs off a USB stick. ATM I was just looking to recover the lost functionality of the remote app.

Most likely the iOS app dropped support for Eden with a recent update. Since OSMC would be JARVIS, you would/should regain all functionality.

I scavenged a copy of 1.5.3 from iTunes backups and it works fine with Eden. The change must be in 1.5.4 or 1.5.5.
