I thought I'd confirm that this happens on a clean install.
sudo apt-get remove rbp2-mediacenter-osmc
sudo mv /usr/lib/kodi /usr/lib/kodi.bak
sudo mv /usr/share/kodi /usr/share/kodi.bak
mv .kodi .kodi.bak
sudo apt-get install rbp2-mediacenter-osmc
--------------
Linux osmcpi3e 4.4.16-1-osmc #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 31 13:12:40 UTC 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
16.8-136
---------------
sudo systemctl start mediacenter
- in Master User enable login screen
logoff Master
login Master - OK
logoff Master
login Master - sad face - repeat ad infinitum
No need to create other profiles - it's the transition from the 'placeholder' Master profile
which manages the login screen to any profile which causes the crash.
Hope this helps :-}
Annoyingly I only managed to replicate this once. When I ran gdb to see what was going on, I was unable to reproduce the problem anymore. I'm using the Confluence skin and cannot reproduce this anymore.
Try moving ~/.kodi to /.kodi-backup temporarily to rule out an issue with your environment.
