v17 OSMC test builds for Krypton 17 (continued)
(2016-08-12, 13:08)agb2 Wrote: @kl1k

I thought I'd confirm that this happens on a clean install.

sudo apt-get remove rbp2-mediacenter-osmc
sudo mv /usr/lib/kodi /usr/lib/kodi.bak
sudo mv /usr/share/kodi /usr/share/kodi.bak
mv .kodi .kodi.bak
sudo apt-get install rbp2-mediacenter-osmc
--------------
Linux osmcpi3e 4.4.16-1-osmc #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 31 13:12:40 UTC 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
16.8-136
---------------

sudo systemctl start mediacenter

- in Master User enable login screen
logoff Master
login Master - OK
logoff Master
login Master - sad face - repeat ad infinitum

No need to create other profiles - it's the transition from the 'placeholder' Master profile
which manages the login screen to any profile which causes the crash.

Hope this helps :-}

Annoyingly I only managed to replicate this once. When I ran gdb to see what was going on, I was unable to reproduce the problem anymore. I'm using the Confluence skin and cannot reproduce this anymore.

Try moving ~/.kodi to /.kodi-backup temporarily to rule out an issue with your environment.

As I said above - this was a clean install, totally fresh, no previous kodi.
It originally surfaced on another installation with lots of addons, skins etc.
That's why I wanted to confirm it happens regardless.
@kl1k has managed to repro. a similar problem.

See my post #114.

Is there any way of enabling crashlogs in OSMC?

I think I've identified the issue. Removed all-048 patch and its now working on my build. No more crashes.
Can you try build 16.8-141 and see if it fixes your issue. (Just uploaded so it should be available within the hour)

I can confirm that build 141 appears to fix the problem with switching profiles :-}
Thanks very much.

Yes -- but as discussed on Slack, we still need this patch. Otherwise skin reloading will be forbidden and some skins will look very weird (such as Confluence).

I did suspect that would cause the problem though. We might need to guard the call in Krypton (I need to look at how it was rebased). It would be good to know if you only experienced this problem on Krypton, or you also can replicate the problem with Jarvis.

@ Sam.Nazarko
I have occasionally had a sad-face crash on Jarvis when switching profiles.
Because it was intermittent and retrying normally succeeded, I didn't bother investigating.
On Krypton [post build 078], the problem was solid - retrying did not work.

Hello, can somebody that use Tvheadend as backend and frontend tells me if the HDMI CEC fonction really stop the backend tuner when you shutdown the TV with its remote?

For me shuting down the TV doesn't stop TVheadend tunner, it is still receiving the TV channel I was playing before stoping the TV.
