I need to find the docs on how to setup the t3ch updater., any help would be appreciated!

Actually no, but thank you for the reply. I was referring to a python script not by T3CH, but to update his build, via a download in the console itself. It asks for the download directory, the unrar directory, and a few other settings. Any help would be great! Thanks,

download directory == a temporary directory to store the rar file.
unrar directory is usually just the drive you want xbmc stored on.
The way T3CH packages his builds, there are folders with extra stuff, so the script unrars it in a folder named the same as the rar file.
Once the script finishes. exit out of XBMC into another dash. ftp in and rename the original xbmc folder. then move not copy the xbmc folder inside the unrar folder to the place your old xbmc folder was.
then you can copy your old userdata folder over into the new, your choice.
