Well you got my attention because I'm always in for PVR improvements, but what is the added value over a mini timeline like this?;

I've actually edited a few skins close to this and it sort of worked for those.
However just by looking at channel slice I don't see how it's a better solution to the same problem?
Skinners already have to possibility to use the mini timeline if they want which works to my opinion just as well.

Mini EPG would also be cool. Maybe both can be implemented as alternative EPG views.
